Anna Kern, teacher

Where did you do your training

Liberation Yoga; Nashville, TN

Favorite yoga moment(s)?

Teaching my dad chair yoga as he sits in his wheelchair. I believe yoga is for all bodies and I strive to find a way to create a space that is inclusive, welcoming, and supportive regardless of ethnicity, ability, age, race, sexual orientation, religion, socio-economic state, or gender.

What has yoga brought into your life?

Balance. Yoga reminds me to slow down in a world that can feel nonstop and overwhelming. Yoga has encouraged me to gently look inward and be kind, patient, and compassionate with myself. This practice is a welcomed grounding for me as I sift through the ups and downs of life.

What are you doing when you’re not teaching yoga?

I spend my free time traveling (working my way to hit all 50 states!), journaling (ask me about my “One Line A Day” journal), camping/hiking (yay, National Parks), volunteering at Ijams Nature Center (my grandmother was Josephine Ijams!), spending time on my family farm (Strong Stock Farm), and eating as much delicious food as I can find locally or cook for myself.

What’s your favorite color?

Turquoise

What’s your favorite song?

Any Dolly Parton song, what a goddess
