Where did you do your yoga training?
Asheville Yoga Center, Asheville, NC
Favorite Yoga Moment(s)?
One of my favorite yoga moments was actually in a class taught by Emily Pace! I had been taking the 26 series for 3 years and while practicing the Rabbit pose (sasangasana) I was finally able to get my forehead to touch the floor before my hands. I even shouted out how excited I was in class.
I also love teaching partner yoga near Valentine’s and other times of the year. This is the only time my husband will actively participate in yoga with no complaints as he is always my partner guinea pig. I also love working with Athletes and fellow recovering perfectionists, and love when friends come to support and take yoga with me.
What has yoga brought into your life?
Iyengar says, “Yoga is a light which once lit will never remain dim, the better your practice, the brighter your flame.” I feel this with all of my soul. The more I learn the more I want to know. I am more aware of my breath and how it relates to every fiber of my being. I am more knowledgeable that imperfect is beautiful, and I am strong enough to share my light with others in hopes they can spark joy in their yoga practice too.
What are you doing when you are not teaching yoga?
When I am not teaching yoga I am reveling in the moonlight, concocting magical meals, enjoying all things in nature, riding bicycles, reading, selling skincare for a large beauty company, and my favorite hobby is bathing.
